The AP is calling the Democratic nomination for Obama. News networks remain a little more cautious, waiting for more public declarations by superdelegates. Either way, it should only be a matter of time now before it’s official (or as official as it gets before the Denver convention).
WASHINGTON (AP) – Barack Obama effectively clinched the Democratic presidential nomination Tuesday, based on an Associated Press tally of convention delegates, becoming the first black candidate ever to lead his party into a fall campaign for the White House.
