Step 1: Chicago

I arrived at Chicago O’Hare airport relatively on time. My connection to Seattle, however, was running about 30 minutes late, giving me about 2 hours to find something to do. O’Hare’s wireless is not free, so I didn’t partake. Instead I decided to charge up my iPod for the 4 hour trip to Seattle and go grabe a bite to eat.

I had an excellent field salad at a sports bar near my terminal. At some point I turned around to see what was playing on ESPN2, and lo and behold, it was the UEFA Champion’s Cup. I forgot that was even on! By the time I started watching it, however, it was 60 minutes in and Milan had already scored on Liverpool. Ever hopeful, I decided I had time to stick around. Milan scored again, and I almost decided to leave, when Liverpool scored a surprising goal with mere minutes to spare in regular time. Alas, however, they couldn’t score the equalizer within the last few minutes of stoppage time.

As it turns out, Liverpool weren’t the only ones for whom the clock was running out. I arrived back at my terminal to find my flight almost done boarding. I had just made it!
